Research yields interesting finds

I said earlier that you’re never that far away from nature in Taipei. The following photos from another part of town go to illustrate that point. The city council should take credit for not removing many of the trees and other plants. It all helps give the city a more liveable, breathable, green and natural feel.

Two views along the platform at Jiantan station on the Tamsui-Xinyi line.

A view from the platform at what was called Danshui station. This has since been renamed Tamsui. There are a number of historical and interesting sights around this station not least of which is the popular Sunset Scenic Area.

This is the scene from the platform at Xinhai station on the Wenhu line. This is the station near to the cemetery we saw earlier on.

Below are two views from the Wangfang Community station platform. I just hope they don’t go and build all over this area. For me this is how city living should be. A mixture of good dwellings, shops, offices, and other facilities, great public transport and nature on the doorstep, lovely.
